A clinical operating system I worked on at Wawmox to replace slow paper records and manual queue tickets in outpatient clinics. Doctors, nurses, lab technicians, and receptionists all needed distinct views of the same patient without records getting desynced. The hardest part was getting the triage-to-consultation queue logic reliable and handling Ethiopian calendar date calculations for appointment scheduling. I wrote 180+ automated Pest tests so clinic staff could trust that patient vitals, lab orders, and SMS reminders wouldn't get dropped.

Zero-install Telegram marketplace for Addis Ababa daily workers
A zero-install conversational marketplace on Telegram for daily wage workers in Addis Ababa. Most casual laborers don't have phone storage or mobile data to download a 60MB app, but almost everyone already uses Telegram. I built this using Python and aiogram so employers could post short-term tasks and workers could find gigs through natural bot prompts. Building an asynchronous finite state machine that prevented partial applications and handling Telegram webhook rate limits during morning hiring rushes was the most rewarding challenge.

Real-time stock monitor & dynamic safety threshold triggers
A real-time stock monitor built to solve a very common problem: running out of critical inventory because warehouse counts aren't synchronized as sales happen. Built with Next.js and Neon Serverless PostgreSQL using Drizzle ORM. I used database triggers to calculate safety thresholds dynamically on transaction commits and dispatch immediate restock alerts before shelves go empty. It gave me a solid appreciation for connection pooling and end-to-end schema type safety.

Browser code sandbox isolated in Docker containers
An interactive code playground that lets developers and students write and run snippets in multiple languages directly in their browser without any local setup. Integrated Monaco Editor on the frontend with a containerized Judge0 backend running in Docker. The core engineering puzzle was security: isolating untrusted code in ephemeral containers, strictly capping memory at 128MB, and handling stdout/stderr stream buffers so long-running processes or infinite loops don't lock up the host.

Offline desktop accounting with ACID transaction safety
A standalone desktop accounting application built with C# .NET WinForms and Microsoft SQL Server. I built this because I wanted an offline, private, and fast way to manage personal accounts without subscription fees or cloud dependencies. Wrapping all balance adjustments in ACID transactions ensured relational ledgers never drifted out of sync, even if the application was closed abruptly mid-entry.

A tokenized interface design system built in Figma to explore how disciplined design tokens eliminate friction when moving from prototypes to frontend code. Instead of arbitrary styles, I established a strict typography scale, WCAG-compliant color contrast variables, and component states for every card, badge, and input. It shaped how I write CSS and reusable UI components today.
